Guidelines for social policies: Principles concerning multinational enterprises and social policy

The ILO developed a special declaration to encourage multinationals to contribute to economic and social progress, based on the principles contained in the Declaration (labor standards, employment, training, working conditions, industrial relations). These principles are intended to guide governments, social partners and multinationals. This session will discuss the impact of the Declaration and how it can be used by companies to improve their CSR practices.

  • ILO progress and partnerships in Romania
  • Possible co-operations between trade unions, government and companies
  • Study case: "Philips Employment Plan" to train protracted unemployed people
