“CSR issues produce social value in a community or broader society and can be considered as an investment’s ability of an organisation to be measured in terms of social return on investment. In my contribution "Investing in the Future" I will give an explanation of the way companies in the Netherlands have implemented, and are still implementing "job creation", "learning in context" programmes and stimulating entrepreneurship, set up for low educated unemployed youngsters with special attention to the minority groupings. Unemployment and especially youth unemployment is a major threat to social cohesion and a fragmented society is not good for business and therefore calls for careful policy making. So a recognisable contribution of companies to combating youth unemployment and preventing social exclusion also is a business interest.”
